New Yankees

The New York Yankees had a media tour of the new Yankee Stadium yesterday. New information and pics can be found on the Yankee Stadium II page.

The team also announced that the cost of the stadium has increased to $1.3 billion. That is almost $700 million more than what the Nationals new ballpark will cost. The new Yankee Stadium looks awesome but that's alot of money. The team also announced plans for the current Yankee Stadium. It appears that the entire structure will be demolished and be replaced with a baseball and softball field. You would think they would want to preserve part of the stadium. Hopefully plans will change between now and 2009.
